Competitive Landscape

Provenance is crowded. Occasion remains the question to prove.

This page maps which positioning territories the competitor set reviewed actually occupies, measured by evidence density in the evidence. It does not estimate market share, because no share data exists here — and inventing one would be the single most damaging thing this portal could do.

10 competitor findings7 brands with evidence1 catalogue snapshots

Territory occupancy by brand

Italian health, protein and longevity positioning is occupied. Sparse cells indicate research coverage gaps as often as competitive whitespace.

Unit: how much evidence we hold, by territory — not market shareGeography: ItalyPeriod: As at August 2026

Method · Each cell counts how much evidence we hold on a brand in a territory. It maps what we know, not the market itself — a brand may be active in a territory and score low here simply because we have not researched it yet.

Derived from live CONSERVAS observations. Row-level provenance is in the Evidence Library.

What this means

Read the empty cells, not the full ones. A crowded territory tells you where the argument is already being had; an empty one tells you either that nobody is there, or that we have not looked yet. Both matter — but only one is an opportunity, and telling them apart needs more research, not more analysis of what we have.

Catalogue

Range and promotional intensity, where captured

Product count and promotion depth by brand

Promotional intensity varies far more than catalogue size. Range is a weak differentiator in this set; pricing behaviour is a strong one.

Unit: count of products / products on promotionGeography: ItalyPeriod: Reviewed 2026-07-31 – 2026-07-31

Method · One row per brand catalogue snapshot from the most recent capture cycle. Counts come from the brand's own storefront feed. Absence of a brand means no readable storefront, not an empty range.

Derived from live CONSERVAS observations. Row-level provenance is in the Evidence Library.

Asdomar positions on "QUALITÀ 100% MADE IN", presenting its choice to process tuna in Sardinia and mackerel in Portugal as a deliberately counter-current decision that preserves artisanal selection skill.

Why this confidence: Verbatim self-description. Note the claim is about processing location and hand-selection, not catch origin.

Callipo anniversary figures conflict: evidence records ">EUR 100m for the first time in 112 years" (2024) while the company site states "sono passati 110 anni" against a 1913 founding (implying 111 in 2024). Logged rather than reconciled.

Why this confidence: Minor discrepancy between two company statements; likely stale site copy, but unresolved.

Method · No market share is calculated anywhere on this page. The evidence contains production and export volumes, and category-level shares, but no brand-level share data for either market. A share number here would have to be modelled, and a modelled share is indistinguishable from a measured one once it is in a slide.
